Welcome to Kharchapatra (खर्चपत्र). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. About Kharchapatra
Kharchapatra is a personal finance tracker built for Nepal. It helps you record transactions, import bank and wallet statements, manage budgets, and understand your spending in Nepali Rupees. Kharchapatra is a software product — it is not a bank, payment processor, or financial institution, and it is not licensed or supervised by Nepal Rastra Bank or any other regulator.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kharchapatra. By using the app you confirm that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these terms.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us promptly at parjanya57@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your Data and Statement Imports
The financial data you enter, and any statements you upload, belong to you. When you upload a bank or wallet statement, you confirm that it is your own or that you have the right to use it. We store this data only to provide the app's features and sync across your devices.
5. Beta Software
Kharchapatra is currently in Beta. Features may change, and the app may contain bugs. Always keep independent records of important financial information — do not rely on Kharchapatra as the sole source of truth for your finances.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for anything illegal or fraudulent.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, clone, or redistribute the app.
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property, violates any law, or contains malware.
- Abuse the service infrastructure through excessive requests or automated attacks.
7. Third-Party Services
Kharchapatra uses third-party services to deliver certain features — for example Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) for push notifications, and cloud infrastructure providers for hosting. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
8. No Financial Advice; Disclaimer
Kharchapatra is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. It does not provide financial, tax, accounting, or investment advice. Decisions you make based on information in the app are entirely your own responsibility. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app.
9. Pricing
Kharchapatra is free to use during Beta. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; you will not be charged without your explicit consent.
10. Account Deletion and Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us. Deletion permanently removes your transactions, accounts, budgets, and statement files from our servers, typically within 30 days (backups are purged on a rolling 90-day cycle). We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Kathmandu, Bagmati Province.
